Austin in his new Big Boy Bed!

Looking for some kisses!

It's been a roller coaster weekend around here. On Friday we found out that Allen's Grandpa was really sick and probably wouldn't make it through the night. Allen left work to go see him and unfortunately that night he passed away. I think Allen was more affected then he let on....it brought up a lot of old memories and hurt because this was Andy's (his birth father) side of the family. He loves his Grandparents and seeing Andy twice in the past week, when he hasn't seen him in years, is making him rethink what type of relationship he may or may not want to have with him in the future, especially now that he has kids of his own, and if he can get over the hurt he still feels. Allen said his Grandma seemed to be doing alright and our hearts and prayers go out to Grandma Osak and the rest of the family.

On Saturday morning Austin got really pale and shaky at breakfast and then all of the sudden got sick. It was odd, he had no fever, no cold symptoms and after getting sick that one time he appeared to be fine and was up and running around. Something must have been bothering his tummy. On Monday we had another showing at our house again but the house was a disaster from the chaotic weekend so we were running around cleaning like mad. Hopefully we get some kind of offer.

Of course the boys are accomplishing amazing feats every day! Austin got a big boy bed! We ordered the footboard and headboard set but it is on back order so he is sleeping on his mattress and box springs on the floor and thinks it's the greatest thing ever. But this presents a whole new set of issues for Mommy because now he can get out of bed whenever he wants and wander around or play with toys. Though I have to say he's not doing to bad...only once have I caught him running up and down the halls yelling "I'm awake Mommy, I'm awake!" And for the past two weeks he has woken up dry in the morning! Austin and I have been singing the BINGO song but with his name instead of Bingo (There was a Mommy who had a boy and Austin was his name-o.....) and now if you ask him to spell his name he can do it all by himself:) I can't believe he'll be going to 3's preschool this fall, it's not going to be easy for Mommy:)

Connor FINALLY cut his 2 bottom teeth on Christmas Eve and now he is teething like mad again. He is enjoying trying baby food but he especially loves, pears, sweet potatoes and yogurt. About a week and a half ago he started getting up on his hands and knees so it won't be long now until he is crawling around chasing after his brother...that should be interesting! Not to mention he's started pulling himself up on the furniture!

My boys seems to love all things musical. Austin will get out his acoustic guitar and give Connor the little electric one to play and Mommy gets the keyboard, and we jam. Today Connor was really going at the keyboard and shaking his booty, I caught it on the camcorder, too cute! And every morning we jive to the Imagination Movers CD while eating breakfast. Austin thinks it's hilarious when I make up silly songs and I'll often catch him when he thinks no one is listening, making up his own silly songs.

A couple weekends ago we went to the Henry Ford museum with Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Sarah. Austin had a blast with all the planes, trains and big vehicles. Connor was happy as a lark strolling around in his stroller checking everything out.

Allen's travel is starting again and he'll be leaving next month for Japan and be gone for 3-4 weeks. It's a whole new ball game now that we have 2 kids. Allen hasn't' had to do any real traveling since Connor was born in June...I think I might be bald by the time Allen gets home:)
